On day 2 – Tuesday morning – we´ve had a meeting local dealer of BMW.
After a short detour to the office tower 🙂 we arrived at the dealer store a few minutes late. But no worries for Paul, who´s took some time to tell us something about sales and their strategy of BMW in Dubai.

Because of their culture and lifestyle, customers of BMW (and of course all other car manufactures) don’t want to wait for 3 months or longer for their new car. It has to be delivered within a week. So BMW offered the following business model. Three categories of a car of each product line will be delivered to Dubai once production is finished.

The only customized option a buyer has is the varnish. This will be done at the Dubai dealer store. Because driving a one year old in Dubai will bring a bad representation, the order management of BMW has to be at its best.

“Old” cars can be sold in Dubai with a big discount only. So you better do the homework right :-).

After answering some questions, Paul handed the group over to xxx who the Head of service department. He showed us around the garage and as well we´ve been to climatic (BMW garage isn’t!) Rolls Royce garage. Impressive to see 7 to 10 unique 200k $ cars just in 75sqm.

After 2,5 hours, we made our group pic and headed to the next appointment.
